Roche announces global collaboration with Nurix Therapeutics to co-develop and co-commercialise potential best-in-class BTK degrader bexobrutideg across malignant haematology, immunology and neurology

Roche and Nurix Therapeutics have formed an exclusive licensing and collaboration agreement to co-develop and commercialize bexobrutideg, an investigational BTK degrader. This partnership aims to advance bexobrutideg as a best-in-class therapy for B-cell malignancies and explore its potential in immunology and neurology. Unlike current BTK inhibitors, bexobrutideg eliminates the BTK protein, potentially overcoming resistance mechanisms. The collaboration will include a clinical development plan across blood cancers, chronic spontaneous urticaria, and multiple sclerosis. Bexobrutideg's novel approach targets both kinase and scaffolding functions of BTK. The deal involves an upfront payment to Nurix and milestone payments, with shared development costs and profits. Roche's oncology pipeline is enhanced by this agreement, particularly in hematology. The global market for BTK-targeting drugs is projected to be substantial. Bexobrutideg is expected to enter Phase 3 trials for second-line CLL treatment this summer. This collaboration signifies a significant step in leveraging targeted protein degradation for patient benefit.
