Roche launches new analytical units for cobas® pro integrated solutions delivering greater efficiency and capacity to laboratories

Roche recently announced the launch of its new analytical units, cobas c 703 and cobas ISE neo, for the cobas pro integrated solutions. These units offer higher testing capacity and increased automation, aiming to improve laboratory workflows and advance patient care. The cobas c 703 analytical unit boasts an impressive throughput of up to 2,000 clinical chemistry tests per hour and 70 reagent positions. Meanwhile, the cobas ISE neo analytical unit focuses on efficiency in ion selective electrode testing, processing up to 1,800 tests per hour with minimized manual intervention. These units are designed to tackle challenges faced by diagnostic laboratories, such as staff shortages and space constraints. The cobas pro integrated solutions platform, launched in 2018, is designed for high-volume laboratories. It offers fast analytical units, intelligent sample routing, and short assay incubation times, further enhancing efficiency. The system boasts features like automated maintenance, automated calibration, and ultrasonic probe cleaning, minimizing hands-on time and ensuring sample integrity. Roche emphasizes that the cobas pro integrated solutions are designed with sustainability in mind, significantly reducing sample volume and plastic waste compared to previous models.
