Roche’s Susvimo maintains vision over five years with two refills per year in people with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD)

Roche announced five-year efficacy and safety data for Susvimo in treating nAMD. Susvimo is the only continuous delivery treatment offering reliable, long-term vision outcomes for nAMD. The treatment, with two refills annually, maintained vision and stabilized the retina for five years. Approximately 95% of patients on Susvimo required no supplemental treatment between their six-month refills. Susvimo was well-tolerated over the five-year period, demonstrating a well-characterized safety profile. These results reinforce Susvimo's ability to provide sustained vision preservation for nAMD patients. The continuous delivery approach offers an alternative to frequent eye injections. Half of all patients achieved better than 20/40 vision at the five-year mark. Susvimo is a refillable eye implant surgically inserted during a one-time procedure. It continuously delivers ranibizumab directly into the eye.
