Roche announced positive results from the Phase III IMforte study of Tecentriq combined with lurbinectedin for ES-SCLC. The study evaluated the combination as a first-line maintenance treatment following induction therapy. The combination reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 46% compared to Tecentriq alone. The risk of death was also reduced by 27% with the combination therapy. Median overall survival was 13.2 months for the combination versus 10.6 months for Tecentriq alone. Median progression-free survival was 5.4 months versus 2.1 months, respectively. The safety profile was consistent with the known profiles of both drugs. The findings offer a potentially practice-changing treatment option for this aggressive cancer.
