Microsoft has confirmed the development of a gaming handheld device, the ROG Xbox Ally, in collaboration with ASUS' ROG division. The device will come in two variants, the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, with the latter being more powerful. Pricing and pre-order details will be announced soon, with a holiday release planned. The device will be available in 21 markets, including the US. Every game showcased at the Xbox Games Showcase will be playable on the Xbox Ally, with native support for Xbox games, as well as games from Battle.net and other PC storefronts. The device will also support Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere. Microsoft has partnered with Roblox to make the game natively playable on the handheld for the first time. The device features a 7-inch 1080p display, 120Hz refresh rate, and 500 nits of brightness, with a microSD card reader for expandable storage. The Xbox Ally is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2 A Processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage, while the Xbox Ally X has a more powerful processor, 24GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage.
