Samsung unveiled new soundbars at CES 2025, including the shelf-mountable HW-QS700F and an updated flagship HW-Q990F. The Q990F boasts a significantly smaller subwoofer than its predecessor, yet maintains powerful 11.1.4-channel audio with Dolby Atmos. Both models utilize AI-powered features like Active Voice Amplifier Pro and Q-Symphony Pro for enhanced sound quality. These AI enhancements will also be available on the new B-series soundbars, HW-B750F and HW-B650F. Samsung is also collaborating with Google on the Eclipsa Audio platform, a new 3D audio standard for spatial audio, supporting YouTube uploads initially. This new standard builds upon previous collaboration on Immersive Audio Model and Formats (IAMF). Eclipsa Audio represents Samsung's continued divergence from Dolby technologies. Pricing and availability for the new soundbars remain unannounced. The previously released Q990D cost $2000, offering a comparison point for pricing expectations.
