Google Workspace Updates

Scroll through live captions and translated captions in Google Meet

Google Meet is introducing an update to its live captions and translated captions feature, allowing users to scroll through the text. Previously, captions were displayed in real-time and disappeared once they were no longer relevant to the conversation. With this update, users can review the last 30 minutes of captions at their own pace. This feature is particularly helpful for users who may have missed a portion of the conversation or want to review specific details mentioned earlier. Users can use the "Jump to the bottom" feature to see the latest real-time captions. There is no admin control for this feature, and end users can visit the Help Center to learn more about using live captions in Google Meet. The feature will be rolled out to Rapid Release domains starting on February 18, 2025, and to Scheduled Release domains starting on February 24, 2025. The update will be available to all Google Workspace customers, as well as users with personal Google accounts. The feature is designed to improve the overall user experience in Google Meet. Users can access resources on using live captions and translated captions in Google Meet through the Google Help Center.
