Second macOS Golden Gate Public Beta Now Available
Apple has released the second public beta of macOS Golden Gate, enabling the public to test the upcoming software before its autumn release. Interested users can sign up on Apple's beta website and download the update through System Settings. This new macOS version integrates Siri AI, similar to iOS and iPadOS, accessed via Spotlight. Siri can perform web searches, access personal data like photos and emails, and execute actions within and across applications. A dedicated Siri app allows for continuous conversations and Siri can interact with on-screen content through Visual Intelligence. The Liquid Glass design has been refined with a transparency slider, improved diffusion of content, and a more visually distinct UI. Application toolbars are now more uniform and easier to read, with less rounded window corners. Sidebars are edge-to-edge and window positioning is more consistent, especially with external displays. Write with Siri offers text generation, grammar correction, and writing feedback, while Photos app gains new AI editing tools and Shortcuts supports natural language automation. Mail and Messages have enhanced search functionalities, and overall performance improvements are included for a smoother user experience.
