Select GM Vehicles May Soon Offer iPhone Car Key Support
Apple is preparing to integrate car key functionality for select General Motors vehicles into the Apple Wallet app. Code discoveries show GM vehicles are being incorporated into the list of supported vehicles. Digital car keys enable users to control their cars via iPhone or Apple Watch NFC. This feature allows for locking, unlocking, and starting vehicles digitally. Apple introduced digital car key support in 2022, with manufacturers gradually adopting it. GMC, Chevrolet, and Cadillac are all expected to be included in the "soon" expansion announced at WWDC. While specific models are still unspecified, the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV and the 2026 GMC Sierra EV are already confirmed. Apple has also added support for Voyah and Smart vehicles. Other car brands, such as BMW, Genesis, and Kia, already offer car key support in the Apple Wallet.
