Semantic Layers: The foundation of enterprise AI

Microsoft is enhancing Power BI, building on its role in data visualization and standardized meaning for millions of users. Power BI now integrates more deeply with broader contexts, supporting analytics and AI through the Fabric IQ built-in semantic layer. New translytical task flows allow users to act directly within reports, streamlining workflows. Modern visual defaults provide polished, consistent report appearances, saving time on formatting. Report Copilot for Mobile offers instant AI-generated answers and visuals on the go. The TMDL View in the Web introduces a code-first semantic modeling experience directly in the browser. Direct Lake on OneLake, now generally available, optimizes data access and performance. Table visual updates offer improved control and cleaner styles. Direct Lake calculated columns will soon be available in preview, providing greater flexibility. Microsoft encourages users to explore these updates and provide feedback to shape future development. Users are invited to engage at FabCon or through online community forums. The goal is to advance data and AI solutions collaboratively.
