Siri Management Team Gets Overhaul After Apple Intelligence Failure

Mike Rockwell, Siri's new lead, is restructuring the Siri management team to accelerate development. He's replacing several managers following setbacks with Apple Intelligence features showcased at WWDC 2024. Rockwell, previously involved with Vision Pro software, is bringing in key members from that team. Ranjit Desai will oversee Siri engineering, Olivier Gutknecht will lead user experience design, and Nate Begeman and Tom Duffy will focus on Siri's architecture. This overhaul aims to leverage Apple's top software engineering talent. Rockwell is simultaneously managing visionOS development. Geoff Stahl will oversee teams previously led by those transferred to the Siri team. Apple is re-architecting Siri to utilize an LLM-based system for improved performance. Collaboration with third-party developers is planned to ensure timely integration with various apps.
