Apple has agreed to pay $250 million to settle a US class action lawsuit over the delayed launch of Siri AI, with eligible iPhone users potentially receiving up to $95. The settlement has received preliminary approval from a judge, but a settlement website has not yet been established. It may take several months before eligible customers can submit claims, and no action is required from them at this time. The lawsuit was filed after Apple delayed the launch of personalized Siri features that were advertised in product presentations and on its website. Apple had previewed the new Siri capabilities in June 2024, but did not release them until recently. To be eligible to submit a claim, individuals must reside in the US and have purchased certain iPhone models between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025. The eligible iPhone models include the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, and their variants. Each person who files an eligible claim will receive a per-device payment of $25, which could increase up to $95 if the total number of claims submitted is lower than anticipated. A settlement website is expected to go live in the coming months, allowing eligible class members to submit claims, and they will be notified by email within approximately 45 days after the settlement received preliminary approval. Eligible class members do not need to wait for notification to submit a claim, as long as they meet the criteria, they can submit a claim once the settlement website is live.
