Slack is transforming its Slackbot into a 'personalized AI companion'
Slack is upgrading its built-in chatbot, Slackbot, by integrating advanced AI capabilities for enhanced functionality. The updated Slackbot will assist users with common work tasks, leveraging natural language processing. It can generate project plans, analyze data, and help users find information quickly. This AI-powered Slackbot integrates with tools like Google Drive, Salesforce, and OneDrive for insightful analysis. The company aims to provide AI assistance to all employees, boosting their productivity significantly. The chatbot is designed to evolve, eventually performing actions and building agents without needing any coding. Early testing shows the new Slackbot can help create marketing campaigns and organize product launches. Currently in beta with 70,000 users, a wider release is planned before year's end. This AI enhancement follows other AI integrations like AI writing assistance and channel recap features within Slack. Slack's parent company, Salesforce, is heavily invested in AI technology, encouraging the use of these features. Notably, Slack is using user chat data to train its AI models, with an opt-out option available.
