Some Spotify video podcasts are coming to Netflix

Spotify is partnering with Netflix to bring video podcasts to the streaming service, starting in the US in early 2026. This deal involves podcasts produced by Spotify Studios and The Ringer, covering various genres like sports, culture, and true crime. Nine sports podcasts, including popular shows hosted by Bill Simmons and Zach Lowe, will be available initially. Other podcasts, such as The Rewatchables and Dissect, will also be included in the initial offerings. Netflix views these podcasts as a valuable addition to its existing content, enhancing its appeal. This collaboration provides Spotify with increased exposure for its original podcast programming. Netflix aims to compete with platforms like YouTube, which feature numerous video podcasts. Streaming services are exploring podcast and talk-radio formats as a way to attract viewers. This expansion provides consumers with alternative viewing options, especially for background listening. The partnership illustrates a strategic shift in how content is distributed and consumed.
