Spotlight on SIG Cloud Provider

Follow
SIG Cloud Provider fosters seamless integrations between Kubernetes and cloud providers. It sets standards to ensure fair and open access to Kubernetes for all cloud providers. The SIG's primary task has been migrating in-tree cloud controllers to out-of-tree components. The cloud provider framework helps cloud providers create controllers, while the extraction/migration project removes in-tree cloud controllers. SIG Cloud Provider does not handle node lifecycle management, which is covered by SIG Cluster Lifecycle and the Cluster API project. The SIG is particularly proud of its progress on the extraction and migration project, which is nearing completion. For new contributors, SIG Cloud Provider recommends attending meetings and studying the cloud provider framework project. The SIG seeks experts in Ginkgo and the Kubetest framework to design and implement generic testing for cloud provider controller managers.
