Spring AI 1.1.0-M1 Available Now
Spring AI 1.1.0-M1 has been released, bringing significant stability improvements and new features. This milestone release includes 391 enhancements, bug fixes, and documentation updates. A major highlight is the comprehensive Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration for AI agent development. This includes an upgraded MCP Java SDK with support for Streamable HTTP and SSE, along with Spring Boot auto-configuration and annotations for declarative MCP development. Expanded model support now features integration with Google GenAI SDK and OpenAI's GPT-5 models. Anthropic Claude models receive prompt caching for cost and latency reduction. ElevenLabs text-to-speech integration is also added with streaming and voice selection capabilities. Vector store and RAG capabilities are improved with enhanced MariaDB similarity scoring and a new VectorStoreRetriever interface. Multimodal processing is enhanced with PDF document support and a standardized audio transcription interface. The release incorporates 76 bug fixes and 32 documentation improvements for production-ready stability. The Spring AI Examples repository has also been significantly updated with new MCP examples and AI-powered validation.
