Spring Data 2025.1.0-M6 released
Spring Data's sixth and final milestone (2025.1.0-M6) introduces several new features and improvements across various modules. MongoDB defaults for UUID and BigDecimal have been removed, requiring explicit configuration for better safety and consistency. AOT support has been added for JDBC and Apache Cassandra repositories, boosting startup time and reducing memory consumption. Jackson 3 support is now included in Spring Data Commons and is required for Spring Data REST. Neo4j now supports vector search capabilities, allowing for efficient similarity searches. Generated property accessors and entity instantiators are now included in AOT bundles for improved performance and GraalVM native image compatibility. This milestone marks the end of the milestone phase, with release candidates expected in October and general availability in November. Feedback is encouraged to further refine Spring Data. Multiple Spring Data modules, including JPA, Neo4j, MongoDB, and others, have reached milestone 6. The updated modules are available with accompanying documentation and changelogs.
