Spring Tools 5.2.0 released
The Spring Tools 5.2.0 release has been announced for Visual Studio Code, Cursor, Eclipse, Theia, and Claude Code. A new experimental Claude Code plugin is introduced, featuring an embedded MCP server for Spring project analytics and interactive skills. This server exposes Spring-specific problems, fixes, and indexing information to the LLM. The embedded MCP server itself has been enhanced with more capabilities and automatic configuration for Eclipse Copilot. The release also includes support for indexing and validating Spring AI projects. Maven repository version validation has been improved, considering configured repositories beyond just GA releases. New support for type-safe property references allows for automatic refactoring of string-based properties. The Spring Tools for Eclipse distribution has been updated to Eclipse 2026-06. Detailed changes are available in the release notes. Downloads and marketplace links can be found on the Spring Tools website. The next release, 5.3.0, is scheduled for mid-September 2026.
