The stable channel of Google Chrome has been updated to version 153.0.8010.52/.53 for Windows and Mac. Linux users will receive this update shortly, with a phased rollout expected over the coming days and weeks. This update addresses sixteen security vulnerabilities, categorized by severity. These include critical issues like a use-after-free in Dawn and a buffer overflow in WebGL.Several high-severity vulnerabilities were patched, including incorrect reference resolution in tracing and use-after-free bugs in PDFium and Extensions. Improper state validation in Skia and buffer overflows in PDFium were also fixed. Additionally, incorrect authorization in ORB and type confusion in V8 were addressed.Medium-severity vulnerabilities resolved include race conditions in FileSystem, server-side request forgery in Omnibox, and information leaks in Permissions. Out-of-bounds reads in DataTransfer and missing authorization in Storage were also patched. Information leaks in Paint were also fixed. Finally, a low-severity UI misrepresentation issue in WebAppInstalls was resolved. Access to detailed bug information may be restricted until widespread adoption of the update.
