Stable Channel Update for Desktop

Google Chrome's Stable channel has been updated to version 131.0.6778.204 for Windows, Mac, and Linux, with a rollout expected over the coming days and weeks. A full list of changes in this build is available in the Log. This update includes five security fixes, with four of them being high-severity issues. The security fixes were contributed by external researchers, including Seunghyun Lee and 303f06e3, who reported issues such as type confusion and out-of-bounds memory access in V8. Google Chrome also thanks all security researchers who worked with them during the development cycle to prevent security bugs. The company's internal security work was responsible for a wide range of fixes, including those detected using AddressSanitizer and libFuzzer. Users can switch release channels or report new issues by filing a bug or visiting the community help forum. The update includes fixes for CVE-2024-12692, CVE-2024-12693, CVE-2024-12694, and CVE-2024-12695. Rewards were given to the researchers who reported the security issues, with Seunghyun Lee receiving $55,000 and 303f06e3 receiving $20,000. The Chrome Security Page has more information on the security fixes included in this update.
