Starship’s fifth test flight is approved: where to watch the launch

SpaceX is preparing to launch Starship for its fifth flight test on October 13th during a 30-minute launch window starting at 8AM ET. The Federal Aviation Administration has given the company clearance for the suborbital test flight after meeting all safety and licensing requirements. The launch will be livestreamed on SpaceX's website, X account, and X TV app, starting about 35 minutes before liftoff. SpaceX aims to return the Super Heavy booster to its launch site, a feat that has not been achieved before. The company also plans for a successful splashdown of Starship in the Indian Ocean, similar to its fourth flight test in June. The FAA's clearance was initially expected in November but was granted earlier due to quicker assessments. In addition to the fifth flight test, the FAA has also approved the Starship 6 mission profile. SpaceX will attempt to build on its previous successes with this latest test. The company has made significant progress with its Starship program, and this launch is a crucial step forward. The successful completion of this test will bring SpaceX closer to its goal of developing a reusable spacecraft.
