Steam now lets developers display the exact date of when their game leaves Early Access

Steam has implemented a new feature for Early Access games, allowing developers to specify a 1.0 launch date. This feature provides players with more transparency regarding when a game will fully release. The ability to display a launch date stems from developer requests for a way to communicate their plans. Early Access offers players access to games early and allows them to contribute to development. Some games, however, have remained in Early Access for extended periods. This new feature allows developers to display a concrete launch date, or even just a year. The launch date will appear on the store page below the Early Access note. Steam emphasizes that this feature is entirely optional for developers to use. Developers should only commit to a launch date if they are confident they can deliver.
