Support tip: Restore the Managed Home Screen Exit PIN

A recent issue, IT1450132, has been resolved that previously caused the Managed Home Screen exit PIN to be removed for some Android Enterprise devices when updating older configurations. Affected policies will require an update to re-establish the exit PIN. Devices experiencing this issue may display a message indicating no PIN has been set, even if one was previously configured. To fix this, navigate to the device restrictions policy in the Microsoft Intune admin center for affected Android Enterprise dedicated devices. Ensure "Leave kiosk mode" is enabled and then set a new 4-6 digit exit PIN. Save the policy and allow it to deploy, then verify the new PIN functions correctly. The former PIN cannot be recovered, necessitating a new one. For immediate access before the policy updates, the "Suspend Managed Home Screen" action can be used if prerequisites are met. Administrators should reconfigure their policies and verify the exit PIN functionality on devices. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
