Supreme Court Sides With DOGE In Social Security, Records Cases

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in two separate cases. One ruling allows DOGE staff to access sensitive data at the Social Security Administration. Justices Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson dissented in the Social Security Administration case. The other ruling blocks lower court orders requiring DOGE to respond to freedom of information requests. Chief Justice Roberts had previously issued a temporary stay on these lower court orders. President Trump had renamed the United States Digital Service to the United States DOGE Service via Executive Order 14158. The executive order created an advisory body to recommend cost-cutting measures for federal agencies. The order also directed DOGE to modernize federal technology and software. This modernization aims to maximize governmental efficiency and productivity according to the President's DOGE Agenda.
