Tax and price updates for apps, In-App Purchases, and subscriptions
The App Store facilitates global sales of digital goods and services across many currencies and storefronts. Occasionally, prices and developer proceeds are adjusted due to tax regulations or foreign exchange rates. These adjustments use publicly available financial data to maintain consistent pricing. As of August 27, proceeds were modified in Morocco due to a 20% VAT introduction and in the Republic of the Congo due to an 18% VAT introduction. Tanzania also saw a digital sales tax rate increase from 2% to 3%. Apple will now collect and remit applicable taxes in Morocco and the Republic of the Congo. Beginning September 14, app and in-app purchase prices will be updated in Israel, Indonesia, Morocco, and the Republic of the Congo, unless a specific storefront is designated as the base. These updates incorporate the new VAT introductions. Prices will not change for auto-renewable subscriptions or in storefronts where prices are manually managed. App Store Connect's Pricing and Availability section displays these upcoming changes. Developers can adjust prices at any time.
