Tax and Price updates for Apps, In-App Purchases, and Subscriptions
The App Store supports 44 currencies across 175 storefronts, but prices may need to be adjusted due to changes in tax regulations or foreign exchange rates. These adjustments use publicly available exchange rate information to ensure consistent prices across all storefronts. As of May 16, proceeds from app sales and In-App Purchases in Brazil have been modified to account for the 10% CIDE tax introduction for developers outside of Brazil. Starting June 2, pricing for apps and In-App Purchases will be updated in these countries if the storefront is not selected as the base storefront. Prices won't change if the storefront is selected as the base storefront or if it's an auto-renewable subscription. The Pricing and Availability section of Apps has been updated to display these upcoming price changes. Beginning August 4, all auto-renewable subscription price increases will require customer consent to continue renewing. Price increases scheduled before August 4 will follow current notice criteria, while those scheduled on or after August 4 will require customer consent. To ensure a smooth transition, it's recommended to avoid scheduling price increases between August 2 and August 4. Developers can view or edit upcoming price changes, edit their app's base country or region, and learn more about managing prices and proceeds.
