TCL is upgrading its easy-on-the-eyes glare-free NXTPAPER display tech with AMOLED

TCL has a history of producing numerous smartphones and tablets. The company has prioritized developing its NXTPAPER screen technology, designed for enhanced eye comfort. NXTPAPER aims to bridge the gap between e-ink readers and conventional tablets. Recent advancements include the Note A1 NXTPAPER and the NXTPAPER 70 Pro smartphone. At MWC, TCL revealed plans for a significant evolution in its display technology. They are developing AMOLED NXTPAPER displays, combining eye comfort with high-end visual performance. This new technology addresses limitations of current LCD NXTPAPER screens, such as low brightness and poor outdoor visibility. The upcoming AMOLED NXTPAPER displays are expected to achieve 3,200 nits of brightness, a substantial increase from previous models. These new displays will also boast 120Hz refresh rates, full color gamut coverage, and significantly reduced blue light emissions. TCL intends to release a smartphone featuring this new AMOLED NXTPAPER technology before the end of the year.
