Tesla App Gains iPad and iPhone Duo Support
Tesla has updated its app to include native support for the iPad and the upcoming iPhone Duo. This update adapts the app's vehicle and home energy controls for larger screen displays. Previously, the iPhone app ran on iPads but lacked an optimized layout for the tablet's screen size. The new interface features a two-column design, dedicating one to navigation and controls and the other to visualizations. Tesla designer Alex Guichet announced the update, confirming support for Android tablets and foldables as well. The app's vehicle view offers access to climate, charging, and security features with a large car rendering. The home energy view illustrates power flow between solar panels, Powerwall, the home, and the grid. This redesign takes advantage of the increased screen real estate, with additional improvements planned for the future. The update aligns with Apple's recent opening of App Store submissions for iPhone Duo apps. The latest version of the Tesla app, 4.62.0, is currently rolling out to the App Store.
