Tesla starts pushing Full Self-Driving access for some Cybertrucks

Some Tesla Cybertruck owners are starting to receive the Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature on their vehicles. The feature was missing since the Cybertruck's launch in November 2023. Members of the Cybertruck Owners Club reported that the update has been installed on their vehicles, meeting Tesla's promised deadline of September. The update includes the latest version of FSD (12.5.5) and a vision-based attention monitoring system for drivers wearing sunglasses. The update is initially available to Cybertrucks set up for the early access program. A Tesla fan account, Whole Mars Catalog, posted footage testing the new update in a Cybertruck, showing it mainly operating as it does in other Teslas. However, the driver needed to intervene when the Cybertruck almost drove into a median after making an automatic left turn at an intersection. FSD v12 uses "end-to-end neural nets" that rely only on AI and cameras, without additional sensors. A more robust v13 FSD release is planned for October. The update is a significant development for Cybertruck owners who have been waiting for the FSD feature since the vehicle's launch.
