The Atlantic has announced initial programming for its 18th annual festival, scheduled for September 17-19 in New York City. This year's event will be primarily held at the Perelman Performing Arts Center, with additional events at various city venues. The festival will commence with "A Soundtrack of a Nation," a collaboration with Juilliard tracing the evolution of American music. Featured film screenings include the documentaries Crime and Punishment in America and Playing POTUS. Live tapings of The Atlantic's podcasts, such as Radio Atlantic and The David Frum Show, will also take place. Ticket options include single-day passes and 2-day general admission passes, with Premiere Passes already sold out. Atlantic subscribers can avail a 30 percent discount on passes. Announced speakers include Pete Buttigieg, Andrew Card, Karl Rove, Whitney Wolfe Herd, and Representative Chip Roy. Discussions will cover the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the future of American cities with several mayors, and challenges in higher education. The festival will also host conversations with authors, journalists, and legal officials. Special programming includes author book talks and signings as part of Atlantic Reads.
