The Day After: Trump 'Not Interested' In Talking As Musk Continues To Make Case Against BBB

Elon Musk and President Donald Trump had a public feud over the "Big Beautiful Bill" that raises the debt ceiling by $5 trillion. Musk opposed the bill, saying it doesn't address waste, fraud, and abuse in government spending. Trump responded by saying he's "very disappointed" in Musk and suggested he might pull government funding from Musk's companies like SpaceX. Musk reacted angrily, threatening to decommission the Dragon program and proposing a new political party. Trump also claimed that Musk only opposes the bill because it eliminates electric vehicle tax credits. Peacemakers emerged, including former State Department official Mike Benz, who defended Musk and called for the two to patch things up. However, Trump is not ready to talk to Musk and is looking to sell his Tesla. Musk spent Friday morning re-posting tweets and clips making his case, arguing that the federal government needs to fix its spending habits. Meanwhile, DOGE chief architect Joel Fishback slammed Musk and said he's stepping away from the effort following Musk's personal attacks on Trump.
