The dream of PictoChat on the Nintendo DS lives on in this iMessage app

The Nintendo DS had a messaging app called PictoChat that allowed users to instant message each other using a stylus. PictoChat was a unique and pleasant messaging experience, but it had limitations, such as requiring both users to be on the same Wi-Fi network. A new iMessage app called PicoChat has been developed to recapture the magic of PictoChat on the iPhone. PicoChat features a similar interface to PictoChat, including alphanumeric and emoji keyboards, and the ability to draw and write with a stylus. The app also displays an onscreen stylus when the user doodles with their finger. PicoChat is available to download now and offers a nostalgic experience for those who miss the old DS messaging app. Nintendo originally released PictoChat in 2004 as a curiosity, rather than a serious attempt at a messaging platform. The app was included on several Nintendo handheld consoles, including the DS Lite and DSi, and had a spiritual successor called Swapnote on the 3DS. While PicoChat cannot fully recreate the small, personal feeling of PictoChat, it is a great way for users to experience nostalgia for the old DS messaging app. Overall, PicoChat is a fun and nostalgic app that allows users to relive the experience of messaging on their old Nintendo DS.
