The eleven commandments of AI UX

The Commandments of AI UX are sacred principles that will guide designers through the transformation of user experience in the intelligence era. The old rules no longer apply, and new principles are needed to separate AI UX leaders from those who are lost. The commandments provide a framework for building relationships between people and models, and are fundamental truths that will shape the future of interaction. The first commandment is to design intelligence, not just interfaces, as every pixel is a decision about how AI behaves. The second commandment is to lead from the future, not follow the present, by creating bridges to worlds that don't yet exist. The third commandment is to make transparency sacred, not optional, by revealing AI decision-making in ways that build understanding. The fourth commandment is to orchestrate collaboration, not competition, between humans and AI, creating partnerships that amplify the best of both. The fifth commandment is to design for adaptation, not static perfection, as AI-native experiences evolve over time. The sixth commandment is to honor multimodal harmony above screen obsession, designing for a world where the best interface is often invisible. The remaining commandments emphasize the importance of proactive creation, curating AI personality, respecting asynchronous intelligence, designing for both human and AI audiences, and designing fluid control.
