The first new Bond game in over a decade is Hitman meets action blockbuster
IO Interactive, after concluding its Hitman series, is developing a new James Bond game titled 007 First Light. This title revisits Bond's origins, featuring an unrefined agent in training. The game's early demo showcased Bond, as part of a team, hunting a rogue double-o agent. Gameplay is structured into three distinct parts: creative exploration, social interaction, and action sequences. Unlike Hitman, First Light aims to de-emphasize killing, incorporating Bond adventures beyond mere combat. A key feature is the Omega-branded Q Watch, which integrates HUD elements and environmental analysis. Players will have freedom in approaching missions, though the demo presented a single path. The game blends action setpieces with more thoughtful, exploratory sections. The demo included an exciting car chase reminiscent of Uncharted, filled with destruction and chaos. The final segment involves intense gunplay and a high-stakes airbase assault, culminating in a mid-air struggle on a plane. This suggests First Light will capture various iconic Bond movie moments. IO Interactive aims to successfully merge these diverse gameplay styles in the upcoming title.
