The GE Profile Smart Fridge stops you from buying too much kale

The GE Profile Smart Fridge with Kitchen Assistant aims to solve common household problems with integrated AI. Its Fridge Focus feature uses a camera in the crisper drawer to allow users to check inventory remotely, preventing duplicate purchases. The fridge also boasts a built-in barcode scanner at the water dispenser that automatically adds items to a shopping list. This list is accessible via the SmartHQ app and can integrate with services like Instacart for convenient grocery delivery. Users can also add items to the shopping list by simply speaking to the HQ assistant or through manual entry and recipe functions. A partnership with Taste of Home provides monthly recipe suggestions, with ingredients easily added to the shopping list. The AI can even suggest recipes based on a photo of available produce. The water dispenser offers hands-free auto-fill and a precise fill feature for measured water dispensing. Unlike other smart fridges, its eight-inch screen is purposefully sized for practical functions like displaying information and recipes. GE Appliances is actively developing future features like spoilage alerts and creative leftover recipe generation. The fridge's design prioritizes solving real-world kitchen challenges rather than just adding unnecessary features.
