While apprenticeships are open to all ages, the current incentives disproportionately disadvantage younger adults. Fortunately, ministers are prepared to address this issue before Milburn's full recommendations are released. Skills Minister Jacqui Smith has requested immediate advice on prioritizing apprenticeship funding increases. She also announced a goal to boost young apprentices by 50,000 annually by March 2029.
