The integrated stress response suppresses PINK1-dependent mitophagy by preserving mitochondrial import efficiency

Cells activate multiple responses to mitochondrial dysfunction, but the coordination of these responses is poorly understood. Here, the authors show that the integrated stress response (ISR) triggered by mitochondrial dysfunction preserves mitochondrial protein import and suppresses mitophagy.
