The LEGO Ultimate Death Star set includes over 9,000 pieces and costs $1,000

LEGO has unveiled its largest and most expensive set ever, the Star Wars Ultimate Death Star. This colossal model boasts over 9,000 pieces and is priced at $1,000. The set includes 38 minifigures, featuring iconic characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Emperor Palpatine. Notably, it also contains a humorous stormtrooper minifigure in a hot tub, referencing the LEGO Star Wars video games. The Death Star is not a complete sphere, but rather a detailed cross-section of its interior. This design allows for the recreation of various memorable movie locations. These include the trash compactor, Palpatine's throne room, and Princess Leia's jail cell. Other interior features include a tractor beam control unit and a shuttle hanger. This release highlights the strong market for high-priced LEGO Star Wars merchandise. Despite its immense piece count, the Ultimate Death Star is not LEGO's largest set overall. The Eiffel Tower set, for example, contains over 10,000 pieces.
