The MacRumors Show: iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo Announced!
Apple has announced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, featuring a smaller Dynamic Island and new color options. These models are powered by the 2nm A20 Pro chip for improved sustained performance and boast significantly longer battery life. The upgraded 48-megapixel main camera includes variable aperture and new Pro Controls for manual adjustments. Pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro models has increased, with pre-orders starting soon for a September 18 launch. The Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 introduce a new Health Sensing System for more accurate heart rate and HRV monitoring, feeding into a daily Readiness score. These new Apple Watches also feature enhanced Audio Intelligence capabilities and come with improved display durability and new material options. The AirPods 5 now include Active Noise Cancellation as standard and feature a multiport acoustic architecture with next-generation Adaptive EQ. Two AirPods 5 models are available, with the higher-priced version offering stem volume control and a wireless charging case. Apple's first foldable, the iPhone Duo, boasts a thin profile, strong durability ratings, and the A20 Pro chip. It lacks Face ID and a telephoto camera but will support Apple Pencil later this year. The iPhone Duo is available in two distinct colors, with pricing varying by storage capacity. Apple also introduced AppleCare One Family and raised prices on several existing iPhone models, while discontinuing the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
