The Pixel Watch 4 might charge via a wireless charging stand

Leaked renders suggest the Pixel Watch 4 may switch to a new charging system, abandoning pogo pins for a simpler wireless method. The renders show the watch charging sideways on a stand, displaying information like the time and charge level. Conductive metal contacts on the watch's side will reportedly facilitate the charging process, offering a potential speed increase of 25%. This design change could also enable a removable back plate, improving repairability and potentially allowing for new sensors. The Pixel Watch 4 is rumored to have a brighter display and arrive in colors like black, silver, gold, and "Moonstone." Prior leaks indicated that the Pixel Watch 4 might be slightly thicker than its predecessor. The new charging method draws comparisons to the Apple Watch's charging system. Google's decision could lead to a more user-friendly and efficient charging experience. The Pixel Watch 4 is expected to be unveiled alongside the Pixel 9 phones on August 20.
