Things 3.23 Brings Long-Requested Overhaul of Repeating To-Dos

Cultured Code has released Things 3.23, introducing significant improvements to repeating to-do functionality, a highly requested feature. Users can now complete repeating tasks early, with the next instance automatically scheduled according to the existing rule. Rescheduling fixed-schedule repeating to-dos offers a choice between making an exception for that specific instance or updating the recurrence rule for all future occurrences. For repeating tasks based on completion time rather than a fixed schedule, rescheduling them will simply move the next copy without a prompt. A new "Create Next Copy" option allows users to get ahead by manually generating the next instance of a repeating to-do. Repeating to-dos now display a small grey icon to visually distinguish them. The setup dialog for repeating tasks has been redesigned for easier configuration and date selection. Bulk actions are now supported, enabling users to pause, resume, or stop multiple repeating to-dos simultaneously. The app also benefits from a unified codebase for displaying and editing to-dos across all platforms. All repeating to-dos and upcoming copies are accessible through the "Repeating" search query. This free update is available on the App Store for Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Vision Pro, requiring updated operating systems.
