R/GA, a creative agency, has bought back its independence from IPG, a holding company, through a new partnership with private equity firm Truelink Capital. This move marks a return to private business after 23 years under IPG. R/GA's management team, led by CEO Robin Forbes and Chair and CCO Tiffany Rolfe, will lead the agency. Truelink Capital is also an investor in several marketing and tech companies. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. R/GA's major clients include Google, Samsung, and Nike. The agency is establishing a $50 million Innovation Fund to invest in new skills, talent, and acquisitions. A Strategic Advisory Council will also be formed to support emerging AI client transformation opportunities. Forbes and Rolfe say the move will give the agency the autonomy to innovate and evolve in the AI age. The agency plans to use its new independence to accelerate its evolution and become a more agile and modern company.
