Transferring your personal Google Voice number to a Google Workspace business account just got easier

Google is introducing an improved experience for transferring a personal Google Voice number to a Google Workspace account. This change allows users to maintain their established phone number as they move to a business account. To initiate the transfer, users can go to "Account Settings" in Google Voice on the web and enter the number they'd like to transfer and the associated Google Workspace email address. The transfer request will then be sent to the admin for approval. Admins will see number transfer requests in the Admin console under Apps > Google Workspace > Google Voice > Numbers. Admins must accept the transfer request for the number to be reassigned. The feature is available for Google Workspace customers using Google Voice Starter, Standard, or Premier. The rollout will begin on February 26, 2025, for Rapid and Scheduled Release domains, with a gradual rollout of up to 15 days. Users and admins can visit the Help Center to learn more about transferring and managing Google Voice phone numbers. This change aims to support users, such as solopreneurs, who need to carry their number with them as their business grows.
