U2 and a Harlem Choir Sing ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’
Choir director Dennis Bell created an arrangement of U2's hit "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" in 1987. The New Voices of Freedom choir performed this arrangement. U2 heard a recording of their rendition and invited the choir to perform with them. This collaboration took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Rehearsals for the performance occurred at Greater Calvary Baptist Church in Harlem. Behind-the-scenes footage of this rehearsal exists. A live recording of the song from this show was included on U2's album Rattle and Hum. Videos of the performance are available. Both U2 and the New Voices of Freedom have released their own versions of the song. On the same day, U2 also encountered street musicians Satan & Adam in Harlem, whose music also appeared on Rattle and Hum.
