Vampire Survivors comes full-circle with Castlevania DLC expansion

Vampire Survivors is set to receive a new downloadable content expansion called Ode to Castlevania, which is inspired by the world of Dracula and the Belmont family. The expansion will include 20 new characters, 40 new weapons, an extra-large stage, and over 30 music tracks. Developer Poncle estimates that the $3.99 expansion will provide more than 10 hours of gameplay. The Ode to Castlevania DLC is scheduled to launch on October 31st on multiple platforms, including PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, Android, and iOS. A countdown timer site has been set up by the developer to track the release. Vampire Survivors initially released in 2021 with Castlevania-inspired sprite art, and this new expansion marks a full-circle collaboration with Konami. Konami has been actively licensing its franchises in recent years, including a Contra-themed collaboration in Vampire Survivors earlier this year. The Castlevania franchise was also used in the critically-acclaimed Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania expansion. Vampire Survivors has consistently received free and paid updates, adding new characters, stages, achievements, and game modes like local co-op. The game has remained popular, consistently appearing on the Steam Deck most played charts since Valve began tracking playtime on its handheld.
