Very weird scallops

Cooked scallops I bought from the fresh fish counter today and they are so bizarre, no matter how long I cooked them for (literally 10 minutes on one side) they are not cooking? After tasting them they are still completely raw on the inside and there’s little to zero crust on the tops. I cooked on medium high heat in a stainless pain using just oil, I normally cook scallops this way and have no issue. Does anyone know what this could be? submitted by /u/happything156
