VMware Revives Its Free ESXi Hypervisor

VMware is now offering a free version of its vSphere Hypervisor 8, as announced in the ESXi hypervisor 8.0 Update 3e release notes. This free hypervisor can be downloaded from the Broadcom Support portal. Previously, VMware provided a free ESXi version for years, which was popular among users for personal and professional use. However, VMware discontinued the free offering in February 2024 due to its shift away from perpetual licenses.
