What’s New in MacOS 15.2 Sequoia

The latest software updates, iOS 18.2 and MacOS 15.2, have some key features that are not yet available on the Mac. Two notable features missing from the Mac are Genmoji and the Mail app redesign. Genmoji are already available on iPhone and iPad with iOS and iPadOS 18.2, making their absence on Mac particularly notable. The Mail app redesign is currently only available on iPhone, and is missing from both Mac and iPad. The omission of Genmoji creation on Mac and the new AI inbox categorization features in Mail on iPad and Mac are not surprising, as they were not included in the betas for these updates. However, the absence of these features is still noticeable, especially since Apple had promoted the Apple Intelligence inbox categorization in Mail for Mac in October. Apple had started promoting screenshots of this feature when the initial round of Apple Intelligence features shipped with the .1 OS updates. It is expected that the new Mail categorization features will be coming soon to iPad and Mac, likely in the .3 updates. The first .3 betas have not been released yet, so the exact timing of these features is still unknown. The upcoming .3 updates are anticipated to bring these missing features to the Mac and iPad, providing a more consistent user experience across Apple devices.
