What’s the difference, if any, between Bacon fat and Lard?

So I saw a post a couple weeks ago where Costco was selling 20ish quart containers of bacon grease to deep fry in and all I could think was “isn’t that just lard?” I was cooking bacon this morning and the congealed grease looked just like lard. Is there a difference? And what would be the benefits of using one over the other? submitted by /u/Ponykegabs
