Why did my spicy verde salsa turn out so sweet?
I charred tomatillos, onion, jalapeños, and garlic in the oven on broil, then let cool, blended, and added cilantro and lime. I've made this same recipe before with green tomatoes that turned out lovely. What went wrong?
Edit: Okay, thanks, everyone. It was my first time growing tomatillos, and I picked them too late. I didn't realize how sweet they could get! I also used what onion I had on hand, which was vidalia without thinking. Appreciate all your replies! submitted by /u/mamapapapuppa
